About 600 women are among the applicants. Some candidates have to be rejected because of age.

For enrollment in “Offensive Guards” more than 20,000 people have already applied. There are many girls among the volunteers. This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko on the air of the telethon.
According to him, the largest number of applications were submitted through the “Offensive Guard” website – about 10,500. About 6.5 thousand people signed up through the Centers for the provision of administrative services. In addition, there were about 3.5 thousand applications submitted through the telephone hotline.
“The average age of candidates for joining these brigades is 33 years old today. The oldest is 69 years old – we had one such candidate. Of course, we cannot take him, but there are such examples,” the minister said.
About 600 girls are among the volunteers. According to Klymenko, they will also find work in assault brigades – in medical, logistical and intelligence units.
The most popular brigades, in which candidates most actively seek to get into, are the police brigade “Lyut” and the brigade of border guards “Steel Border”.
Creation of the “offensive guard” – what is known
Last week, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the creation of assault brigades “Offensive Guard”. These formations plan to participate in the liberation of Luhansk, Donetsk and Crimea.
According to military expert Ihor Romanenko, the need to form assault brigades at the Ministry of Internal Affairs is dictated by the peculiarity of the Ukrainian strategy. In the course of the upcoming offensive, the Armed Forces will break through the front and develop operational success, and the assault brigades will clear populated areas.
Another military expert – Oleksandr Kovalenko – believes that the Ukrainian offensive will begin when new brigades, fully equipped with Western equipment, will be formed.
