Masha Efrosinina commented on the language scandal she got into with Olya Polyakova: photo

Posted on December 4, 2022

The presenter honestly admitted that at that time she did not understand how much this was a trigger topic for our society.

Ukrainian presenter and blogger Masha Yefrosynina commented language scandalwhich she entered together with Olya Polyakova in July of this year.

In the program “There are rumors!” Ramina Eshakzai is a celebrity sharedthat then she received so much hate against herself and even against her children:

“I was accused of refusing to speak Ukrainian. And all the people who pissed me off and wanted my son to die by blowing up a mine. And my older child to be splashed with acid… These are the defenders of the Ukrainian language who wanted this for me. No one bothered come and see that my Instagram from May is all in Ukrainian, that all the interviews I gave were in Ukrainian from March,” Yefrosinina said.

However, the presenter admits that she made a mistake, because at that time she did not understand how triggering the topic of the Ukrainian language is for society.

“I’m screwing up. Analyzing this story. If I was in Ukraine at that time, I probably wouldn’t have said that. I was in Europe, like all the people who left with children. I lived in the news, suffered in the news. But I absolutely did not feel with my skin how the narrative about the language had changed. I did not feel it, I did not have time to read it. And at the time I was doing this issue still really aware that “Grown Girls” is loved for its honesty. Here we are, as it is. That here too we will be honest with you, because we have yet to switch (to Ukrainian – ed.), in fact, we both have certain difficulties in our communication. I completely naively thought that this honesty would be perceived as well as any what we were talking about. And screwed up,” Efrosinina commented.

In addition, the presenter believes that after that incident, some bloggers and media people specifically harassed her in public in order to make money from it:

“There were those who did it to order. I know this for sure, because these videos were later promoted. There were those who were really indignant and disappointed, and I understand them,” Masha said.

We will remind you that the speech scandal surrounding Masha Efrosinina and Ola Polyakova broke out in July this year. Then the stars in the new edition of their YouTube show “Grown Girls” addressed the audience and noted that they cannot conduct the project in Ukrainian. The reason given by the stars is that the audience is used to their interaction, the chemistry between them and the way they communicate without choosing words.

“Before that, we really spoke Russian all the time – both at home and among ourselves. We want to speak Ukrainian, we study the language, we do everything for it. But to do so, in a private conversation, like with a friend in the kitchen, unfortunately, it won’t work in Ukrainian. And you yourself won’t be interested in watching belching, meowing, those who choose words, your favorite “Adult girls”, – noted Olya Polyakova in her turn.
