Precautionary measures were imposed on three drug-trafficking suspects in Beregivu Oblast
The investigating judge of the Berehiv District Court granted the request agreed by the prosecutor of the Berehiv District Prosecutor’s Office and took two men and a woman into custody. She was given bail in the amount of 156,000 hryvnias, and for the men – 208,000 hryvnias for each. They are suspected of illegal distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances on the territory of Berehyv Oblast (Part 1, 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In the course of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that Transcarpathians are residents of the village of Vylok and the city of Vynohradiv – established a scheme for the illegal sale of cannabis and methamphetamine in the region. The suspects kept the “goods” at their places of residence, and later sold them for pre-agreed amounts of money. Only during this month, law enforcement officers documented several such cases.
In addition, a number of searches were conducted in the residences of those involved. A crystal methamphetamine-like substance and possibly cannabis were found and seized, to be confirmed by forensics, as well as electronic scales and cash.
The investigation of the criminal proceedings is carried out by the investigators of the Berehiv district police department.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
