The Russian occupiers released the secretary of the city council of Nova Kakhovka Dmitry Vasiliev.
He was in Russian captivity for 46 days.
This was reported by Vasiliev’s wife Lyudmila Facebook.
“Today, after 46 days of captivity, I finally saw my husband in free Ukraine, who remained in his hometown of Nova Kakhovka from the first days of the war to help people survive the occupation,” she said.
Lyudmila Vasylieva claims that the city authorities of Nova Kakhovka have not helped in any way in the issue of Dmytro’s release.
“Dmitry Vasiliev did not cooperate with the occupiers, for which he was punished for his pro-Ukrainian position for 46 days in captivity, unlike other” patriots “who were already free in 2-3 days,” she added.
It will be recalled that Nova Kakhovka was temporarily captured by Russian troops. Dmitry Vasiliev occupiers abducted on March 16. His wife had previously reported that Vasiliev had been subjected to physical and moral pressure, including “elements of torture.”
It was also reported that on March 16 the occupiers were released from captivity the mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov.
