Motorists heading across Auckland’s Harbour Bridge have been told to be cautious as strong winds hit the region.
Heavy weather has hit much of the North Island on Thursday, with houses being damaged and businesses flooded around Wellington and on the Kāpiti Coast.
Waka Kotahi [NZ Transport Agency] have reduced the speed limit across the bridge from 80km/h to 70km/h, warning motorists driving high-sided vehicles and motorcyclists to be careful.
MetService Meteorologist Angus Hines said strong winds have been blowing pretty consistently all day across Auckland and are unlikely to ease for days.
